Pinnacle Library Cooperative has been a Polaris customer since 2012. Pinnacle has a collection of over 1.3 million volumes.
The Pinnacle Consortium is headquartered in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
The consortium is comprised of 6 public libraries (9 total locations) including:
- Fountaindale Library
- Joliet Public Library
- Lemont Public Library District
- Plainfield Public Library
- Shorewood-Troy Public Library
- White Oak Library District
Pinnacle is a great example of a single Polaris implementation whose individual libraries have done unique PowerPAC customizations. If you follow any of the linked libraries above you’ll notice each library’s PowerPAC is very unique even though they share a single instance of Polaris.
Pinnacle also exemplifies how Polaris handles electronic resource ownership selectively in a consortium. Fountaindale, Lemont and Shorewood-Troy provide their patrons access to the Bibliotheca Cloud Library (eBooks) while the other members do not. The Polaris software only displays Cloud Library eBooks to those patrons whose library membership allows them access.
